The ergonomics issue is a fairly minor gripe, though, especially given the shear number of devices this remote can control. It's just that the remote doesn't feel quite right or balanced in the hand, and generally, when you want to do something with it, you end up having to use both hands. The ergonomic issue is hard to explain. The 600 series of Harmony remotes (with the peanut shape) improved the ergonomics considerably, in my opinion. A decent, functional remote that controls a fairly large number of devices (twelve). It works well, but I took a point off for the lack ergonomics and the somewhat flimsy feel. I'd like it better if you could just have the remote resting comfortably in one hand and be able to do what you need to do without shifting your position and using two hands, ect.
Finally an application that has a great user experience. The user interface of the both the software you use on your computer as well as the Help feature on the remote are amazing. We use the remote for our TV, cable box, surround-sound DVD system, Wii, and Apple TV.
Both remotes work great and there are two very happy families. There is a little learning curve but easy enough to learn. I have had our remote for about two years and just bought another for a Christmas present. This remote does it all and I never use the other remotes anymore.
I only have 4 components, so I gambled on this unit doing what I wanted, namely all in one, and eliminate the need for numerous different remote controls. Highly recommend this item. I purchased the Logitech Harmony 520 Universal Remote after seeing commercials for the more expensive model(s). Not only did the Logitech work great, but if anything happens to not work correctly, you simply push the "HELP" button, and the remote corrects the problem by asking you "YES" or "NO" questions.
All but Activity, Device and Help keys seems to be dead. So, I recommend to buy another model (Harmony 510) and/or to buy with an extended warranty. After 11 months my Harmony 520 stopped. Logitech service support was a charm, and I receive a Harmony 510 to replace the defective 520 in Rio de Janeiro, all taxes paid (Harmony 520 model was discontinued).
